Growing up in Fremont, California, I was immersed in the innovative spirit of Silicon Valley from an early age. The constant evolution of technology and its impact on how we communicate sparked my fascination with digital media. Now based in San Francisco, I find myself at the intersection of tech innovation and journalism, leading Southwick News into the future of digital storytelling.
From Code to Content
My path to journalism was unconventional. I began my career as a software engineer after earning my Bachelor’s in Computer Science from UC Berkeley. However, my growing interest in how technology could revolutionize storytelling led me to pursue a Master’s in Digital Journalism from Stanford University. This unique combination of technical expertise and journalistic training has shaped my approach to modern news delivery.
The Tech-Journalism Bridge
Before taking the helm at Southwick News, I worked at several major tech companies, developing news recommendation algorithms and content distribution platforms. This experience gave me valuable insights into how technology can enhance news consumption while highlighting the importance of maintaining editorial integrity in an AI-driven world.
Life in Balance
Outside the newsroom, I’m an avid cricket player and captain of a local Bay Area league team. The sport’s emphasis on strategy, patience, and teamwork mirrors many of the principles I apply to newsroom leadership. I also enjoy experimenting with cooking, combining traditional Indian recipes passed down from my family with modern California cuisine.
